MY VIEW OF "SO MUCH UNFAIRNESS OF THINGS"

For those who suffer and have ever asked themselves the question, "Why me? Why have I been hurt, abused, neglected, abandoned…?", the answer is this.

"Your wounds will become your gifts… and the greater your wounds, the larger your gifts." This might seem at best odd and at worst unbelievable… That all these wounds were inflicted not by mistake but as part of a greater Divine Plan. That suffering could lead one past their pain and ultimately to greater joy. That from the ashes of the past one could rise like a phoenix and become stronger and better with a brighter future than ever before. And yet that is precisely what happens.

Take those who are hurt or abused. The blows they take from others beat them down until they retreat deep within themselves. I know - for in a past life, I was a deformed, hunch-backed cripple. People jeered at me and threw stones and garbage on me as I passed by. Yet, in that life, I learned to be like the piece of coal that, when pressured, becomes as hard, strong, and clear as a diamond.

Those hurt and abused who have developed diamond-like inner strength know this to be true.

Take those who are neglected or abandoned. The despair and aloneness they feel make it seem like it is always darkest night even when the sun is shining brightly. I know - for in a past life, I was left to rot alone for years in a prison cell, even the jailors who fed me were forbidden to speak to me. Yet, in that life, I learned to reach deep inside my own mind and heart to discover their hidden wonders.

Those neglected and abandoned who have made the journey of self discovery know this to be true.

Take those who are orphaned. The loss of the strength, comfort, guidance, and love that a parent provides is truly devastating and stays with one their entire lives. I know - for in a past life, I was once an orphan. Yet, in that life, I learned to become my own parent, to love myself unconditionally, to embrace who I had been completely… So much so that nothing can shake my inner foundation now.

Those orphaned who have learned to love and parent themselves know this to be true.
