Background on This Exercise
Background: If you cannot look in the mirror and honestly say to yourself that you are your own best friend, then you need to do this exercise. For in many respects, life is an exercise in aloneness: you are born alone, you die alone, and the only one you go through every moment of every day of your life is yourself
Your life's journey is made more pleasant if you truly love and enjoy your travelling companion: YOU. What makes the journey unpleasant is your holding onto any negative thoughts and feelings about yourself or others. Holding onto this negative baggage is like you taking poison and expecting someone else to die.
Goal: The goal of this exercise is to get you to dump the negative baggage you are holding. It can be summed up by a simple phrase: "forgive - love - live happy".
1> If you are holding onto an abnormal amount of negative baggage, do the "Letters of Indignation", a forgiveness clearing exercise, first before doing this exercise. If you are holding onto too much negative baggage or your heart is hardened by too much unforgiveness, then this exercise will not work.
2> The only other preparation is to get a lighter, a blank piece of paper, a pen or pencil, a quiet place and time to do this exercise. For it to be successful, you must make the commitment to do this exercise every day for 60 days. If you miss a day, you have to start counting all over again. When you can get through it for the full 60 days, I guarantee that your life will be transformed for the better.
1> First Part Harmony: Forgiveness - What keeps us firmly stuck to our negative baggage is the fact that we cannot forgive ourselves or others for somehow failing us. Sincere, heartfelt forgiveness is the solvent that unsticks our fingers from this baggage, allowing us to drop it.
a> Draw a circle on a blank sheet of paper. Inside the circle, write down everything that you has made you angry with yourself or others today. Be brief, write fast and furiously, let the anger pour from your hands onto the page until the circle is filled up. On the bottom of the circle, write " & anything else from today or the past I need to forgive but is not above."
b> Say "I transfer all my anger about what is written here to this paper". Then get very physical with the paper: burn it (which is preferred), crumple it, shred it - do anything you have to do to completely destroy it. Throw out whatever is left of the paper (it's best if you can remove it from your house).
c> Say "I have now destroyed the negative baggage which no longer serves me. I forgive myself. I forgive others. I forgive God. I am forgiveness."
2> Second Part Harmony: Love - Hands that were used to holding negative baggage need something new to hold (for nature abhors a vacuum). There is nothing better in the universe to fill your hands with than love.
b> Once you feel the energy of this imaginary ball vibrating in you hands, move your hands as if you were putting it straight into your heart. Feel it move from your hands into your heart.
c> Close your eyes and see the ball going into your heart. Once it is there, say "I love myself. I love others. I love God. I forgive everyone everything. I am at peace with the past. I am joyful in the present. I am filled with hope for the future. I receive love. I give love. I am love."
3> Third Part Harmony: Live Happily Ever After - Now that your hands are filled with love, it is time to fill your entire being with love. Bodies filled with love stay healthier, last longer, and are better able to provide you with quality of life. Minds-Emotions filled with love are able to attract opportunities for relationships, work, and education that bring you joy and contentment. Spirits filled with love make all around them happy. All this is what God and the universe intend for you.
a> Close your eyes and imagine the glowing ball expanding from your heart to fill your entire body. See your body glowing with the golden white loving and healing light.
b> While you are doing this, say "I am completely centered in NOW. I always stay centered in NOW. Thank you, God, for the precious present of this present moment."
c> When this is done for the day make the commitment to do something fun for at least 15 minutes. These 15 minutes do not have to be all at once - they could be 5 minute "fun breaks" 3 times a day. The point is you must do something that will make you smile and laugh. For smiling and laughter cause chemical reactions in your body that make you feel better and keep well!
Example: Someone I knew who had cancer committed to this program for 60 days because they refused to "chop, burn, and poison" their bodies with surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. At the end of the time, after following this program along with a sensible course of nutrition and alternative medical therapies, there was a noticeable decrease in the size of their tumor. Eventually, their cancer went into remission. They added years and quality to their life.
Before you let it get to that point, take a dose of love and happiness each day - it will definitely keep the doctor away.
The answer to why this program works can be found in the simple, ancient wisdom of the "Hua Hu Ch'ing" (Verse 57) which is as relevant today as it was when written more than a millenia ago by Chinese master, Lao Tse.
"The universe is a vast net of
Each being, however, converts the
energy of this primary ray into it's own ray.
An individual - who is not yet fully evolved - can be adversely effected by the negative energy rays in the net of energy around him. For example, the combined influence of several negative rays might cause an undeveloped person to believe that his life is being controlled by an invisible, oppressive ruler.
Such a misconception can be a significant barrier to enlightenment.
To attain full evolution and the status of a fully developed and integral being, you must be aware of this intricate net and its influences upon you.
By integrating the positive, harmonious energy rays with the positive elements of your own being, and eliminating the subtle negative influence, you can enhance all aspects of your life.
